The fifth International Africa Development Forum (FIAD) was held on March 16 and 17 in Casablanca. The Ivorian investment promotion center attended this event in order to attract investors in Côte d'Ivoire.
Held by the Attijariwafa Bank Group under the theme “New Inclusive Growth Models in Africa”, this event aims to create a platform that provide more visibility to economic operators while recording the most promising investment projects on the continent.
As the guest country, the Ivorian delegation presented to the companies the various investment opportunities and the economic potential of Côte d'Ivoire.
The center also took advantage of this opportunity to explain the Ivorian investment code in order to encourage people to invest in the fields of agro processing, transportation, ICT, construction and renewable industry…
This edition was made up of plenary sessions and thematic workshop. It also offers important platforms for exchanges between operators (B to B) and to the investment market, a space dedicated to countries.
More than 1500 operators from partner states and 25 countries on the continent were present. Participating countries aside Côte d’Ivoire include Burkina Faso, the Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia.
It should be noted that CEPICI took part to the previous edition held on February 25 and 26, 2016 in Casablanca as part of its investment promotion’s activities and South-South trade.
With this South-South cooperation, Moroccan investments have significantly increased in Côte d'Ivoire over the past few years. In 2015, Morocco was the 1st country providing foreign direct investment registered by the CEPICI.
